30 July 2009 Swearing In Of Louis B. Susman, New U.S. Ambassador To The Court Of St. James's The United States Ambassador to the Court of St. James's, Louis B. Susman, was sworn in on July 29 in Washington, D.C. by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. U.K. Foreign Secretary David Miliband attended the ceremony, as did the British Ambassador to the U.S., Sir Nigel Sheinwald.

09 June 2009 U.S. Embassy in London Hosts National Basketball Association The U.S. Embassy in London, partnering with the National Basketball Association (NBA), hosted nearly 130 guests from the Greenhouse Schools Project for a screening of Game Two of the NBA Finals between the Orlando Magic and the Los Angeles Lakers. The Greenhouse Schools Project provides sports and arts programs, including basketball, table tennis, and dance, for underprivileged youth in Greater London.
04 June 2009 U.S. Embassy in London Hosts Guests for "A New Beginning." The U.S. Embassy in London hosted a viewing of President Barack Obama's address from Cairo to the Muslim world, entitled "A New Beginning.". The speech, which lasted just under one hour, was followed by an audience question and answer session with Senior Advisor for Regional Media Dan Sreebny and Cultural Attaché Liza Davis.

And along with Christianity, Islam is considered one of the fundamental influences that shaped American civilization. It is this history of Islam's influence on America, and the successful integration of Muslims into American life that the Al-Jazeera English network examines in its documentary, “Islam in America,” which the Embassy screened for a special audience of community activists, diplomats, journalists and opinion leaders on May 21st.
13 May 2009 Frogs: The Thin Green Line Frogs are dying throughout the world in massive numbers. Why? As part of its environmental film series, the Embassy explored this question by premiering a new documentary on May 13th called Frogs: The Thin Green Line. The film describes the threat facing frogs from climate change, habitat destruction, and most importantly chytrid – a frog-killing fungus.
21 April 2009 Celebrating Earth Day - Hollywood Style On the eve of the 39th anniversary of Earth Day, the Embassy hosted over 150 environmental experts, journalists and NGO leaders on April 21 for a special film screening of the Leonardo DiCaprio documentary The 11th Hour.
